The Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom invites PHA Qld members to the annual WILPF QLD Peacewomen Awards, Sunday 8 October 2017.

This year, the Awards will celebrate the long forgotten women peace makers in Brisbane from WW1 to the 1930s. Dr Deborah Jordan will share her research on these amazing women, who will gain the posthumous recognition they deserve as WILPF Queensland Peacewomen.

The 2017 Awards will also honour the women who re-established WILPF in Brisbane in the early 1960s as part of the movement for Aboriginal rights in Australia and opposition to the Vietnam War.
