Caloundra Family History Research Inc. is hosting the 3rd Queensland State Family and Local History Conference and Fair, with the support of History Queensland Inc., at Lake Kawana Community Centre, Bokarina, Sunshine Coast on 24 – 26 May 2019.
Commencing on Friday 24 May there will be a free family and local history fair which continues through Saturday and Sunday. There will be three free talks on Friday morning; in the afternoon registered conference participants can attend workshops / educational classes. All day Saturday 25 May to noon on Sunday 26 May, two streams will be scheduled concurrently, one family history and one local history. The program will cover a broad range of topics and interests, including some for beginners, as well as more experienced researchers.
Engaging speakers, enthusiastic and passionate family historians and leaders in the fields of genealogy and local history are invited to register their interest in presenting inspiring talks and/or workshops/master classes at the conference. Up to three proposals may be submitted.
Call for speakers timing
· The call for speakers opens on 1 April 2018.
· The Call for Speakers closes on 31 August 2018. All proposals received will be acknowledged.
· The decision on speakers will be made by 31 October 2018 by the Conference Committee.
· Successful speakers will be advised by 12 November 2018 and will be entitled to a free conference registration.
