Draft 2013-2014 PHAQ Strategic Plan Revised List

Milestones 2013-4

That by the time of the 2014 PHA (Qld) Annual General Meeting:

  1. Getting the Links we Need: In the following milestones…
    1. To have worked with the ACPHA and AHA, to organise a PHA session at the 2014 Australian Historical Association conference, to be held at the University of Queensland between 7 and 11 July 2014, and hosted by UQ’s School of History, Philosophy, Religion and Classics. It is anticipated that in this process a joint PHA (Qld)- Universities liaison program could be negotiated with the UQ School of History, Philosophy, Religion and Classics so that postgraduate history students and recent history research thesis graduates can be guided into the requirements and demands of the history professional practice.
    2. All active historians in Queensland who do meet the ACPHA criteria for accreditation have been approached to apply for PHA (Qld) membership.
    3. There has been one regional area social gathering of members within the Association.
  2. Getting the Profile we Need: In the following milestones…
    1. The PHA (Qld) website has been re-developed so that there is a self-profile page available for each member.
    2. There have been two public gatherings where the PHA (Qld) has put together promotional displays and presentations.
  3. Getting the Training we Need: In the following milestones…
    1. One PHA (Qld) in-house professional development workshop have been run, in the form of a PHA session at the 2014 Australian Historical Association conference, to be held at the University of Queensland between 7 and 11 July 2014, and hosted by UQ’s School of History, Philosophy, Religion and Classics.
    2. Two workshops have been attended by a member which would benefit professional historians and a report for each workshop has been produced on what the member has learnt from the workshop relevant to professional history work
  4. Getting the Work we Need: In the following milestones…
    1. Several members have been assisted to work out collaborations or joint working relationships in order to see through the successful completion of contracts or other projects.

Finalisation Process

The draft 2012-2013 PHA (Qld) Strategic Plan was distributed to all members for their consideration on Wednesday August 22, 2012. The draft 2012-2013 PHA (Qld) Strategic Plan was placed before the membership at the 2012 Annual General Meeting on Wednesday September 26, 2012, for their final consideration, modification and endorsement. The PHA (Qld) Management Committee meeting of Tuesday November 13, 2012, accepted for consideration a revised list from the draft Strategic Plan. The revised draft 2012-2013 PHA (Qld) Strategic Plan as relisted was placed before the (Qld) Management Committee meeting of Saturday January 19, 2012, for their final consideration, modification and endorsement. This revised document, now reframed as the (final version) 2013-2014 PHA (Qld) Strategic Plan, will be placed before the (Qld) Management Committee meeting of Saturday 25 May 2013 for approval in its distribution to all members.
